Just remember that America includes North and South America, not just the United States, and that there are even more speakers of Spanish than of English if you include ALL the Americas. Portuguese and French are very well-represented as well, which tilts even more weight on the side of the Latin-based tongues.

Plus this list is read world-wide, so there is no need to be New World-centric. It just happens that English is read and understood by most of us.
