Have you tried changing the sounds assigned for each staff before
playing back?
Did you use GPO in WinFin2006 and WinFin2007? If you used your systems
soundcard synth or some other softsynth for playback, that might account
for the difference. If you used GPO playback in the previous versions,
there's no logical explanation.
I haven't had that problem with playback of older files, so I can't
speak from experience with any words of wisdom for you. Sorry.
