I try not to write for transposing instruments ;->

I think for chord transpositions to work, there needs to be a key
signature (unless they've fixed this in '09). The way I handle this is
to make a concert C lead sheet with the appropriate key signature and
add the parens as articulations. Then I Save-As for each transposing
instrument and change the key as necessary for each instrument.

I just thought of one way that might work which I'll try when next I
meet a transposing instrument. Create a five-stave score with the
correct transpositions assigned to the staves and then the parts would
provide the transposed lead sheets. 

In either case, the chords transpose correctly because key signatures
are used.

I'm curious why the parentheses need to be part of the chord symbol. I
find I have more flexibility by adding the parens as articulations.
