I should recommend doing complicated things in the program that is suited...
So instead of trying to get the impossible done in Finale - it does not support unicode, so Japanese is a problem - nor complicated formatting as needed by Furigana - nor top-to-bottom or right-to-left text, so - do the text in the program you are happy with - be it Word (not always the best choice, mind) or better a desktop publishing program like Quark or InDesign, or Illustrator, and export the notation part FROM Finale using EPS (if this works in your system), PDF or hires-TIFF. At 1200 dpi, you won't notice the difference in print unless you enlarge it massively. You'll get the freedom to get your text right, resize your notation at will, and you will get first-quality output that way. Do in Finale what's Finale's, and do the rest in programs that handle it better... Thanks Apple, you can always do high or low quality PDFs from any Mac Program, and that's maybe the best format for printing studios (high quality settings) and for mailing / web sites (low quality setting.) Japanese text works fine in Windows and OsX, be it Word, WWW or e-mail - but not in Finale - so instead of trying the impossible, just do it the other way 'round. The reason is that Word can do the text formatting I want but Finale can't. Does anyone have a good (Mac) procedure for importing the text into Finale in EPS format? I can do it as PICT or GIF but then I get pixelation. _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
