I am looking for a new scanner. Here is what I need:
- Full Mac Twain compatibility. It needs to work with Acrobat above all.
A so-called Photoshop-Plugin will not work (been there, done that).
- Speed is an issue...
- I would like the largest affordable scan area.
Unfortunately the Mustek series of A3 scanners does not have proper Mac
support, and the Sane support seems rather basic. If anyone is using one
of these on a Mac I'd like to know how you feel about it.
Otherwise A3 doesn't seem to be within my financial limits.
I am looking into both Epson and HP. Canon I won't touch again, their
Mac support for scanners is terrible (printers are great though). Epson
has good support, but HP has some scanners with slightly larger scan
area. Is anyone using one of these on a Mac?
I would also like how they behave for music recognition, I remember
there were some issues with HP scanners.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
