Since I do stuff in languages other than English, I have long been frustrated
by the PC character set and its clumsy handling of an extended alphabet. ALSO,
since I do most of my work on a 12-inch laptop (with an added BIG screen;-)
there is no keypad for the ALT+NUM practice.

What I use is Ergonis Software's POPCHAR application. It has a number of nice
toys, and Ergonis has an excellent record of customer care and fair upgrade
policies.

Recently, I was asked about the ELISION setup on PCs by a (normally) MAC user.
It is ALT+0160 on the numerical keyboard. I asked Ergonis' support and was told
that their font table was laid out in order and that the ALT+ info would appear
on the lower left corner of the screen. It works like a charm.

I just thought I'd offer this to y'all;-)
