For whatever it's worth, my son-in-law the IT expert tells me that it's safe to upgrade to Mac OS 10.5.5 (I'm now using 10.5.4) but that there are unsolved problems with 10.5.6 and, perhaps, 10.5.7 as well. What the problems are, I don't know, but he is usually right.
