Hi all,

I made the jump to Snow Leopard (10.6) in the hopes that it would solve some longstanding problems I've been having with audio dropouts. However, I think those issues must be hardware-related, as a completely clean install of 10.6 brings no relief.

Anyway, as far as Finale goes, everything worked fine until I installed Finale 2010. Then I discovered that the Garritan Instruments for Fin2010 cause *every* version of Finale to crash on launch in Snow Leopard. Thankfully, there is an update available from MakeMusic that fixes the problem. Once I applied that patch, all version of Finale on my machine (2004-2010) now appear to be functioning normally.

The other thing to watch for is that a lot of combined audio+MIDI interface (including mine) don't have 10.6 drivers yet. But if your MIDI interface uses the Mac OS X driver instead of a third-party driver, you should be fine. (My M-Audio Oxygen8 keyboard works fine, for instance.)

Cheers,

- DJA
