So What - Miles Davis
(Not necessarily in the same league, but the improvisations are good,
especially Miles and Bill Evans.)
Subsequent imitations of this piece (and form) by lesser musicians
have fallen far short of the original.

Can anyone recommend some works or significant parts of works that
are based on one or two chords only?
So far I have:
Monteverdi: Prelude to L'Orfeo (D major)
Wagner: Prelude to Das Rheingold (Eb major)
Ross Edwards: Maninya V (two chords)
Stockhausen: Stimmung (1 chord)
I'm sure there are many others I'm missing: any suggestions?
Matthew
