Thanks for sharing this with us, along with the fact that even you can't reproduce it all the time.

It's interesting that you could reproduce it yourself before submitting it, yet now you can't. Did you reboot your machine in between times? Or did you exit Finale at least? Perhaps it was just some internal "switch" or something which got stuck the day you found the bug, could reproduce it and submitted it but having quit and restarted the program (and possibly your computer) in the meantime, that "switch" (or whatever it was) got unstuck and things are working as they should now.

In any event, it's understandable that they couldn't reproduce it if you can't reproduce it now. ;-)

Friends,

Apparently this is an issue which relates to a small group of scores, and is not generally applicable. I had the experience and reproduced it myself before submitting the tech support request, but they could not reproduce it, and neither could I.

Case Reference # 091028-000485

Finale 2010 Window XP

Situation: I place a single layer, uncompressed ~.tif image in a Finale (I've seen this behavior in both 2000 and 2010, but haven't checked every version in between) document; I see the image on the screen and print the document and the image appears exactly as I expect. However, if instead of printing the page, I export the page as a ~.tif image (haven't tried exporting as other graphics formats) what appears where the image is placed is a solid black box.

Is this a bug, or a "feature"?

If it's a feature, can it be mentioned in the documentation, please?

PS. It's good to see from the Support page <http://makemusic.custhelp.com/app/ask/> that you'll be closed on Independence Day, 2009.
