Finale can't open Sibelius files, but it can import MusicXML files
saved from Sibelius. Have your colleagure send you a MusicXML file and
you can import it with Finale.

Unlike Finale, Sibelius does not include MusicXML export directly in
the product. Your colleague will need to use one of our Dolet for
Sibelius plug-ins to do the export. The latest version 5.1 works by
far the best, but requires Sibelius 5.1 or later. Version 1.7 is still
available as well for people using older versions of Sibelius. The
plug-in is available at:

Since you're using Finale 2006, you will be much better results if you
do the import using our Dolet 5 for Finale plug-in. This is available
for a 10-day free trial at:

  http://store.recordare.com/dolet5fin.html

There's a demonstration about how the MusicXML transfer from Sibelius
to Finale works at:

Good luck!
