it affects all parameter of MM rests, including width and right offset to accommodate clef changes. once the score is finished and you are working on the parts there is no reason to use this function really... but you have to remember to turn it off if you use it before the score is finished.

Perhaps this is old news, but I had a problem with a file that readjusted the barlines at each printout. The problem was a setting in the Multimedia Rests options called "Update Automatically". That option streched out the MM rests at print time if they got too narrow, which affected the whole layout. Turning it off solved it.

Just thought I should mention it if anyone else have the same issue in the future.
