I go for the main note. In most cases, I think the grace note would
be played slightly softer than the main note (unless it is marked
with an accent. However, this would not be true if the grace intended
to be played as an appoggiatura in 18th-century style (on the beat).
BTW, Finale 2010 assigns the dynamic to the main note even if you try
to assign it to the grace note. Of course, you can move the dynamic
mark so that it is below the grace note.

change is on a note with preceding grace note(s)? Below the main
note or below the grace note?
