Hi Ryan
Thanks for your help with this.
I can get it to display a whole bar rest by clicking ignore, but I don't
seem to get one, if I don't manually insert it and then correct what I get.
I'm wondering if this is because I'm putting 2 voices on one staff.
Yep, that will do it -- you can't have a default whole rest
in an unused voice on a staff which has other voices on it.
The default whole rest is only for totally empty measures.
So one thing you can do is to switch off "check for extra
notes" under the Speedy entry or the Simple entry menus and
then put the whole rest you want in the other voice. It
will be displaced by layers options set in the Document
Options dialog, so you'll have to click on the whole rest
and hit the * key to have it move back to the default
location. A pain in the butt, but it's doable. Once you've
got one measure set that way, you should be able to choose
"Show Active Layer Only" and then simply copy that one and
then paste it into any other measures you need the same
thing to happen in. Of course, the problem with this is
that once you choose "Show Active Layer Only" all the empty
measures in the layer you're working on show with the
default whole rest anyway, so you'll need to know which
exact measures you need to copy that into before selecting
"Show Active Layer Only."
