i tihnk the only real prob would be speedy entry, i remember having probs with this in the past. if you don't plan on editing much it won't be a hassle, but you enter and then have to hit return to get to the part staff. it might have to do with the staff order, i seem to remember the blank staff was above the staff i wanted to edit in the staff order.
also, any measure-attached things you assign or move in the part might attach themselves to the dummy staff and therefore disappear from the score.
Can anyone think of any pitfalls to rigging a dummy empty staff for tempo markings and including it in the parts? It seems that would be a hell of a lot easier, especially with this many parts.
