Thanks to all for your comments.
I didn't realize new Apples were due out soon. I'm not really the
sort of person to rush out and get the latest model anyway -- if I
were, I probably wouldn't be working on a seven-year-old computer
right now -- but perhaps it will be an opportunity to get the "old"
model at a discounted price. Anyway, just because of time
constraints I was already leaning toward putting off the purchase and
nothing has persuaded me otherwise.
As for Finale, I shall be sure to turn off all the automatic this and
automatic that. That's my inclination, anyway. I'm kind of a control-
freak and I prefer to do all the spacing, layout, word extension, and
hyphens deliberately.
