Yes, I've had the pleasure of working with Bob many times over the
past twelve years that I've written for Sesame Street and I concur
with you completely about him, both as a musician and as a man.
Sorry I don't know the name of the other Arlen tune. I just finished
doing some work on the restoration of a 1934 Arlen musical "Life
Begins at 8:40" that was performed a couple of weeks ago at the
Library of Congress and recorded here in town last week. I don't
think the mystery tune is from that show, although I didn't work on
all the numbers, so I can't absolutely rule it out.

that had been orchestrated by Joe Raposo. Long story, but I sent
Bob Cranshaw as a sub to finish out the run, and that was days
before Joe landed the job as composer for Sesame Street. Now, when
I run into Bob, he thanks me for the $100,000 a year he gets in
royalties for playing all the Sesame Street recordings. Couldn't
have happened to a better player, or a nicer guy.
