I agree. I also noticed the increase in speed in several areas immediately.

Yeah, that took me aback at first as well. But everything is in the 
Selection Tool now, which you can get to FAST by hitting Esc, and it 
is a great improvement! Between contextual menus and double-clicking 
to get to the tool that actually created an item, my work speed 
increased considerably because of this change. You'll love it!
