Hi everyone, For those of you going to the 1st Annual JAZZ EDUCATION NETWORK Convention in St. Louis next week, please consider attending the premiere of my new composition for jazz ensemble, GOSTO IMPORTA! Jointly commissioned by the USAF Noteables jazz ensemble of the Heartland of America Band and the Metropolitan Area Youth Jazz Orchestra (MAYJO) of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, this new work is a great example of an innovative collaboration between a professional band and an educational ensemble. The concert will feature Staff Sergeant Chris Hammiel from the USAF Noteables performing with MAYJO on trumpet. Here is the gig information: The Metropolitan Area Youth Jazz Orchestra 1st Annual Jazz Education Network Convention Dr. Pete Madsen, director Saturday, May 22 2.00 - 2.50p University of Missouri-St. Louis Millennium Student Center Nosh Showcase Stage I won’t be able to attend the premiere (my son graduates from high school that weekend!)
