OMG Hiro, now you're pulling at my heartstrings. Similarly, i bought
v.1, and needed a university research grant to get the dough
together, and voraciously read the manuals on a 1500km interstate car
trip while my wife drove.
phew, whawt a mindblower, the idea that i could actually do music
notation on my trusty Mac Plus with its HUGE 60MB external SCSI drive
that was built like a battleship... i gotta stop or i'll reduce
myself to tears of joy... :'(

manuals every night in my bed, and I memorized pretty much
everything. I can't do that anymore with PDF manual. Once I bought
the printout. MM charged me $35 or something. It was a joke. Too
heavy to hold, and too small to read.
Back then, these three spiral bound manuals were perfect for bedtime
reading. I was the Finale master back then. Not so anymore ever
since they went to PDF manual.
