I'm using a HP LaserJet 5100. It's enormous, old and noisy, but pretty quick and built like a tank, and it will handle the thick paper I use (if I use the straight paper path.)
A couple of issues. I bought the duplexer unit for it, but it only works on thin paper, so it isn't really useful for me. I have also had issues with booklet printing (trying to print four 8.5x11 sheets side by side on both sides of a sheet of 11x17) since a while now, so I do it manually (print on one side, then refeeding the paper so it prints the other side.) I am on my second ink cartridge, and they seem to last forever, even printing dense music. I recommend it.
