I hadn't heard the term 'topline notation' until this thread, but am very familiar with it. Well, I was very familiar with it, when contemporary pop and jazz charts were hand-written. I remember trying to construct a workaround much like was suggested here, but without much success.
For guitar and keyboard parts of simple songs, this style 'cleans up' the part, unclutters' may be a better word. As a guitarist, I need to know if a particular voicing is important, but as a guitarist, I don't need to see every note in the chord. Topline notation facilitates easier sight-reading. A plugin for this style would be very useful in my work as a copyist and arranger._______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
