Finale tech told me to export and save as an XML. Then to import as an XML. After doing so, the fretboards showed just fine. But then I saved to a PDF. In the PDF, the chord symbols still display just fine but the fretboards are gone - just blank white space where the fretboards were. The chords are allotting space for the fretboards that are not displaying. Any ideas?
My Finale deafult file is many years old - I bring it up into newer versions but that is what was causing the fretboards to not display. All the fretboards displayed just fine except two which I can create. In a file from several years ago selected "Show Fretboards". All of the fretboards are blank - no dots anywhere, just blank grids. Fretboards are set for Seville 36 in Fonts in Document Options. I believe that Seville 36 is still the default font for fretboards. I loaded the FretboardStyles library which is in the Chord Suffixes folder in the Libraries folder. Was set to Seville but tried various settings. I don't recall previously loading a Fretboard Styles library but that was long ago. No matter what, still blank grids. The chord symbols were entered when the file was first created in 2006. I tried other files and all show blank fretboards. Now I just discovered something. I have my default file that I've brought up through the many versions of Finale since I have tweaked it so much. If I say New Document from Template and select a template, the dots show on the grids. So something in my default file is no longer compatible with fretboards. Thanks!
