That link didn't work for me, but I'll bet the word is "motor." It's possible to play the vibes with the motor off but you don't get the vibrating sound, so sometimes as a special effect it will be played with the motor off. Same with the pedal - the vibes can be played with the pedal up as a special effect. That's what makes me think (without being able to see the image) that it says: "motor on, pedal down, soft sticks." -- David H.
