If you go the the user manual and click on "What's New" in the top left hand corner. You can scroll down to what's new in 2008. That's when the mass mover tool was replaced and it'll explain everything. Once you get used to it it's much better than mass mover. But jumping from 2004 to 2011 is tough...much easier when you upgrade every year.
