as i recall there is a severe problem with exportation of custom smart shapes in EPS
depends on what the student wants, i am able to do a lot inside finale without recourse to external programmes. and i usually encourage people to do everything they can within finale, if possible. for example, some recurrent shapes can be turned into font characters and used as text in finale. but if you do need to use a graphics programme or layout programme, i strongly suggest using pages (iWork). everything done outside finale could possibly mean several extra steps and huge amounts of work for even a simple correction / edit. >What Richard says is true, but you can also export the Finale file >as EPS via the Graphics Menu.
