Just "for the record", there were two underlying problems (and this 
is with FinMac 2004 in general).

Its association with the .mus extension was some variety of Unix 
binary, and that was buried pretty deep in the OS. So just installing 
FinMac 2011 wasn't enough. Selecting it as the default application 
for all .mus files doesn't make it any easier. One must still tell it 
(for every OLD .mus file, created in FinMac 2004) to open the file 
with FinMac 2011. That really is...NOT cool.

Regardless, Katherine is reducing the number of files composed in 
FinMac 2004 by converting them to 2011. All should be on the way to 
paradise now.
