Yes, I extracted parts, then transposed them. My practice has always been
scores at concert pitch. This score was entered in Finale 97 (also in the days
when PDFs created under Finale/Windows were massive and had ugly screen
display).

2 clarinets, 2 horns, 2 trumpets.

Which I've done, except for the 1 and 2 parts that I can't figure out how to
make work as linked parts and have extracted.

Right.

My scores and parts have been available for PDF download in their 'first night
format', and I clean them up if there's a subsequent interest in a
performance. In this case, a distributor has asked for printed copies of 12
pieces as soon as possible -- so a lot of work. This flute concerto is the
only big one.

Mystified me. I figured if I set up the initial insert for font, style and
position (horizontally centered using the dialog box, not by dragging) that it
would carry though to the rest of the parts. But no, they all had handles on
the left with the handle placed on the right margin and protruding rightward
(sometimes off the page). I did each one at a time with the positioning
dialog.
