Can anyone remember why there is an option in the HP preferences to "Allow
Temporary Score Adjustments"?

Any advantages or disadvantages to that option?

The manual just says:
"Allow Temporary Score Items Adjustments. Check this box to allow HP to adjust
the horizontal position of score items while processing the score for playback.
Any adjustments made to expressions or other score items return to their
original position after playback."

I think that Human Playback temporarily writes notes into the score for trills
and tremolos and as a result, stems flip and dynamics move just before playback.

I also suspect that artifacts such as invisible tempo changes sometimes remain
behind. (I can't prove it yet, but it is a hypothesis that might explain some
strange goings on that I've encountered.)
