Hi Chuck,

I have the same problem and the IP address seems to keep changing, probably
every time I disconnect something on the network. What I do now is delete the
HP printer in the prefs, then add printer and set up again. You can find the IP
address by using the buttons on the top of the 5000n to print out the
configuration.

Menu button - press right side once to get Information Menu

Item Button - press right twice to get Print configuration

Select Button - press once to print it out (2 pages)

You'll see the new IP address under 'Protocol Information' on the printout. I
find now under the newer OS printer prefs I have to choose HP Jet direct-Socket
and I put the IP address into both the Address box and the Location box. The
name box you can put in anything you want. Add the printer and I then select
'Configuration' to add in the 3rd tray and Duplexer I have installed.

If anyone knows a better way I'm all ears, the 5000n worked great up until the
OS went over to the intel chip some time back, ever since then it has never
really recognised the printer automatically.

Anyway, hope this helps,

Jonathan
