Nice! I recall that Launch Equity was spearheaded by a man who used to serve as CEO of MakeMusic, and it really sounds as if they are committed to making the huge investment necessary to modernize Finale's base code and revitalize the product and the company.
This is particularly exciting news in light of the less than wonderful developments at Avid (parent company for Sibelius) along with new developments at Steinberg, with Daniel Spreadbury and most of the recently fired Sibelius development team hard at work on a brand new notation program. MuseScore has just released version 1.3 and I have to say I am very impressed with the improvements to the program since I last checked out. Notion continues to make progress but in my opinion still lags behind Finale and Sibelius. Now if we could just convince Alan Talbot to release his death grip on the source code for Graphire Music Press so that it could be modernized, we would have an embarassment of riches in the music notation software world! David H. Bailey (eagerly looking forward to continuing developments at MakeMusic!)
