Sorry Jari; most certainly I am using the wrong terminology here. How I understood the advice, and how I tested it, was to add the vocal staff to the horn parts, and use a (new) staff style with "Force hide staff (and collapse)" for the parts where the vocal parts shouldn't be visible.
