i have made a chart of note to EDU equivalents (512th to double whole
and up to 3 dots) and wonder if there is any reason to include tuplet
values?

the only place i could see them being useful is in the composite time
signature definition box, but there is no way to use tuplet values
there, only binary divisions.

long ago i defined my own music spacing allotments (spacing width
table), but find that finale's spacing algorithm is fine (as good as
it can get) using the standard spacing widths dialogue, changing the
reference widths and durations, and the scaling factor according to
context.
