It use to be (back in FINMAC 2005) that Garritan had two controls -- 1 for volume and one for force of attack. I always found with percussion (membranophones) that it was better to play with force of attack. I have not had to go there lately -- so cannot vouchsafe further on the matter. I use to notate my drum rolls in full for playback and increase the attack level throughout to get a reasonable sounding cresc.
