Aww, you guys! You're too nice! Really though, I'm just paying forward all the help I got when I was starting out. Also, it was really no bother at all.
I bought PDFtoMusic Pro (not very expensive online) and tested it out. It works on PDFs that have been created from inside a notation program like Finale or Sibelius, and exports MusicXML. It's far from perfect, but it helps enormously. It won't work on scanned music, and I know of nothing else that works well enough on scans to save time over manual entry.
