When I meet dynamic or tempo related ghosts, I consider the problem attached to 
the underlying full stack.
I cut the full stack of the of the problem measure and the rest of the piece 
and move it a few measures to the right. I then delete the empty stack of 
measures. If there are more problem stacks I repeat the procedure.

Thanks for the suggestion, David, but that didn't work either.  I even 
tried just selecting the notes and leaving all the other items out and 
it still did not work.  I have already recreated it from scratch now and 
that plays back fine.
