The way you describe is the way I have mine set up.  You set the MIDI/AUDIO - 
Device Setup to the MDID channel that has the piano sound assigned to it (not 
Smart MIDI).  I think that will work the way you prefer.  Sometimes, when you 
change pitch in a staff with Speedy from a note that has been already entered, 
the sound of that staff will play, but mostly I think this works the way you’d 
like it.  Hope I understood the question and that this helps.
