I'd like to be able to input a long string of pitches that would adopt a preset rhythmic pattern; or vice versa, I'd like to input a string of pitches and then modify them to fit a repeating rhythm pattern. I'd also like to be able to modify rhythms more easily, as in changing -- in one fell swoop -- a whole set of dotted quarters into quarters * eighths. I can input using one hand on the midi keyboard and the other on the num pad, but changing numbers and symbols while inputting notes can be slow, clunky, and usually results in having to redo errors. Using hyperscribe doesn't work well for this task, either, partly because I have to concentrate on remembering not to use the standard pianist technique of syncopated pedaling, and also because it requires memorizing the rhythm pattern. TG Tools won't allow this kind of modification because you have to have exactly the same number of notes in the rhythm and pitch staves, not to mention you have to set up the rhythm pattern in advance. Again, slow and clumsy if you do this sort of thing very often. I've looked at upgrading to Fin2014 but fail to find anything that makes this kind of operation easier. Am I overlooking something? Is there an easy way to do this within Finale?Has anyone else conquered this problem, perhaps with macro software? And if so, what software did you use?
Many thanks for any advice.Marilyn _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: [email protected]
