I use a shape expression centered over the barline with a 4-bar repeat
symbol from the free Norfolk Special font and the "4" placed above (see
attached screenshot). Then I apply a blank notation staff style that
only shows the text expression.
But I would only use it in percussion or drum set notation as it may be
irritating to see the first measure being completely empty.
