Has anyone used XML as a transfer from Encore into Finale? I have single line fiddle tunes, and by the time I get them imported into Finale the notes have been divided up into four layers. One typical example - a 2/2 bar in 8th notes - the first note is in layer one; the second in layer two; 3, 4, 7, 8 in layer 3; and 5, 6 in layer 4. And it's all like this, in various permutations.
Same thing whether I use regular Finale import (into 2012) or the dolet. My mind is boggling. It'll certainly be faster to enter the music into an empty template.
