I just tried an experiment and got it to work.
1) created a 3 measure piece with a repeat sign at the end of the 3rd
measure
2) Defined an expression "2nd Time Only"
1a) set the Playback for Velocity set to 0
1b) set the "Play on Pass" to 1
1c) assigned this to 2nd measure.
3) Tested my experiment -- the 2nd measure was silent the first time,
but so was the third measure and all the measures on the repeat since
the change in velocity remained as set until I reset it as follows:
4) Defined an expression "Play" setting the text to "hidden"
4a) set the Playback with Velocity set to 100 (this would need to be
edited in each
instance to match the velocity of the surrounding music
4b) set the "Play on Pass" to 1 (once it's set it will remain in effect
until altered)
4c) assigned this to the 3rd measure
5) Tested my experiment - on the first pass the first measure played,
the 2nd measure was silent, the 3rd measure played and on the 2nd pass
all the measures played
So that's how I would accomplish a 2nd time only playback.
I hope others come up with other suggestions.
