I don’t know the PC world, but the Mac OS includes Garageband (of course) which would provide the sound. I bet there is a similar thing in the PC world (some simple music play program included with the OS). The interface is hard to answer without knowledge of your students gear. I suppose the best world would be a USB keyboard. Well, let us know what you wind up with.
