Pizz. Has always worked for me. There are three things that people sometimes miss: 1) the staff must be named doublebass or contrabass so that HP knows what to do when it encounters a "pizz." expression; 2) the instrument must be selected from the "Notation" library and not from the "Standard" library; 3) it does not work using spacebar playback.
