Hello my friend, Jón Kristinn Cortez. jef chippewa suggested: “...check your document options, "accidentals" tab to make sure you have the right character set to show”.
So I went to Documents < Documents Options and selected Double sharps in Music Caracters. Then came up the palette with many characters and I found the double sharp symbol (x) and selected that. So when I asked for a sharp twice, I got the right symbol, problem solved.
