I'm also not a windows expert, but do the alt sequences <http://symbolcodes.tlt.psu.edu/accents/codealt.html> for typing extended characters not work in the expression dialog? (I thought they did.) In either case, I sometimes end up typing the text in notepad or a word processor and copying it in.
