I've said it on several previous occasions, but it's worth repeating: do not, under any circumstances, use the built-in Finale pdf export. It has serious bugs (printing unwanted characters in unexpected locations) and produces enormous file sizes (up to 10x other pdf solutions). It's from a 3rd party developer, so Makemusic is unable to fix it. Why they continue to include this fatally flawed implementation is a mystery (they know it's broken).
The pdf printer I always recommend is Bullzip.
