I can replicate the problem, assuming you're using a midi keyboard to 
enter the pitches.

In the MIDI/Audio menu, under Device Setup, click on Midi Thru to turn 
it off, and the trumpet sound won't be routed back to your midi keyboard 
or to the VST.  You'll only be hearing the concert pitch.

On the other hand, if you want to hear only the trumpet pitch, have the 
audio playback through the VST and simply turn the volume down on your 
midi keyboard.

If you're not using a midi keyboard for entry, then kindly disregard 
this reply.  :-)
