Finger Lakes Permaculture Institute presents on the 2012 Green Buildings Open
House tour.

Cayuta Sun is pleased to welcome visitors to our rural, off-grid home,
gardens, and forest during the tour of green buildings on Saturday, October
13th. This home and and its surrounding landscape serves as an educational
space for the Finger Lakes Permaculture Institute.
(http://FingerLakesPermaculture.org) Students and teachers from the Institute
will be present to answer questions and give tours.

Permaculture teacher and Cayuta Sun designer Michael Burns will offer a short
introduction to permaculture at 10 a.m. and 2 pm. as well as regular tours of
the home's wind, solar and other energy systems.

Tim Reap (http://www.ithacacarpenter.com/), the builder of the earth-bermed,
double-walled, and highly-insulated home will be on site to answer questions.

Jake Maher Delisle, FLPCI alumni and intern will talk about vermicomposting
and soil building at 12 p.m.

Extension of Tompkins County and the Ithaca Green Building Alliance, in
conjunction with the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association and the American
Solar Energy Society.

WRISTBANDS: A $5 wristband gets you into as many houses as you can visit in 2
days; under 18 free. Buy your wristband before the event at Cornell
Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County (615 Willow Ave., Ithaca), Home Green
Home (on the Commons in Ithaca), Greenstar Cooperative Market (701 W. Buffalo
St., Ithaca), or during the event at select sites on the tour. No one will be
turned away, but please show your support for the Open House and help make it
financially
sustainable if you are able!
