Adam Michaelides Program Manager, Compost Education CCE-Tompkins County -- 2020 Master Composter Training Application Deadline: Monday, January 27th Training: (10) Thursday evenings, 6:30-8:30pm, from February 6 - April 30, 2020 @ Tompkins County Cooperative Extension, 615 Willow Ave, Ithaca NY Help reduce waste, protect the environment and improve gardens by teaching others to compost in Tompkins County! Join other enthusiastic volunteers for 10 in-depth classes and 20 hours of practical learning outside of class. Classes cover a variety of compost and education topics that will prepare you to become a compost educator in Tompkins County. The 20 hours of training outside of class include hands-on composting, assisting at events, researching compost topics, and organizing the Compost Fair. After training, use your new compost know-how and teaching experience to help others in the community. Training is held on Thursday evenings, 6:30 - 8:30pm, from February 6th to April 30th at Cooperative Extension in Ithaca. To accommodate school breaks and holidays, class will not be held on three (3) Thursdays during this time period: Feb 20, Mar 12 and Apr 2.
