Come celebrate spring with Cayuga Nature Center at our monthly Cayuga
Coffeehouse Brunch!

This May we have a plateful of opportunities for all ages from early
morning to late afternoon.

Brunch (served 10 - 12 pm) includes local and organic eggs, home fries,
pancakes, and a number of dishes featuring local and regional mushrooms.
This brunch is the debut of CNC's new cook, Micah Baker.

At noon, we will begin an informal workshop and demonstration in the
courtyard where we will inoculate about 30 Sugar Maple logs with oyster
and shittake mushroom spawn. Join CNC Land Use Manager Steve Gabriel and
Acorn Designs' Steve Sierigk for this highly informative and fun
workshop. Suggested donation of $5 - 10 dollars.

Also at noon, join us as we officially open our butterfly house for the
season! We'll take a butterfly collecting hike and along the way learn
the life, history and habits of our early season species. Meet at the
lodge. Free!

From noon until 2 o'clock you can head over to our high ropes course
and safely challenge yourself anywhere from 15 to 65 feet off the
ground! The cost per participant is $10 and pre-registration is
requested, but not required.

At one o'clock, come upstairs with your little naturalist for a special
introductory session of our PeeWee Naturalists program! We'll celebrate
our Earth by exploring spring flowers and birds, reading a wonderful
story and sharing it all with one another. Crafts and healthy snack
included! Fee for non-members is $12 pre-registered, $18 at door. For
Members, the cost would be $10 pre-registered, $15 at door

At two o'clock, seasoned mushroom hunter Carl Whittaker will take folks
on a hike throughout the 80+ acres of CNC woodland to seek out these
amazing specimens large and small.
